Vacheron Constantin History
The history of Vacheron Constantin began when watchmaker and designer Jean-Marc Vacheron founded the company in 1755. With its long history, Vacheron Constantin is one of the oldest manufacturers of watches in the world. In 1785, Jean-Marc’s son, Abraham, became the head of the company leading it through turbulent times including the French Revolution. The head of the company changed again in 1810 when Jean Marc’s grandson, Jacques-Barthelemy, took over the helm and in 1819, brought Francois Constantin in as his partner creating the Vacheron Constantin brand.
