Brand: Rolex
Model: gmt-Master Reference: 1675 Year: 1960 Serial number: 503XXX Material: Steel Bracelet: Steel Diameter: 40 millimeters Condition: very good Box&papers: no Description: Extremely rare and beautiful 1675 gmt of the first series with tropical brown occ dial. A gmt highlight of my dealer career. This watch is one of the first 1675s ever made and presents the rarest dial ever built in a 1675. If you look at the pictures, you will quickly notice that the superlative lettering on the dial, which was always found on later watches, is missing. The reason for this is that this watch, as the first 1675 variant, still shows the "old" layout of the 6542. The dial is therefore only marked Officially Certified Chronometer, which is why this dial variant is also referred to as occ. The case is in very good condition. We recently gave it a gentle refurbishment as the edges were a little round. My expert has restored the watch to its typical classic wide-edged finish by removing a minimal amount of material, so it now looks almost as it did when it was delivered. In order to perfectly preserve the character of the watch, we left large parts of the case untouched. The watch therefore shows slight signs of wear on the polished side surfaces, but no deep scratches, dents or the like. In addition to the extremely rare occ version that I have already described above, the dial has another highlight. It is a tropical dial, i.e. the black lacquer has turned a wonderful shade of brown over time in combination with the brass base plate. Typical for these dials, the tropical brown tone is strongest at the date window, the hand outlet and the edge of the dial. We have tried to capture this optimally in pictures, but it is even stronger in real life. In addition, the dial shows only very slight dotting and the mirror is still in top condition (full gloss!). The hands are later tritium service hands, except for the small 24-hour hand. This is original to the watch and, in combination with the perfectly harmonious patina, creates a wonderfully harmonious picture. The bezel and inlay are another highlight. This is the first bezel variant of the gmt 1675, which, unlike later versions, has a continuous serration on the outer edge. We were able to capture this perfectly in the case pictures. Furthermore, the inlay is original to the watch with super cool signs of ageing. Incidentally, we were able to purchase this watch directly from the first owner via a contact. That's how we know that the inlay was delivered as it was! The case cover is also important for a 1675 occ. This must be engraved iv/59 or i/60. Of course, we have checked this and guarantee that the case cover engraved with 1/60 is original to the watch! Another highlight is the missing date magnifier. Have you noticed? Correct, because this glass is a mega rare t38 superdomed glass without a magnifying glass, which accentuates the beauty and the tropical effect of the watch even more. Finally, the information about the band. A highlight here too. It is an extremely early and chronologically correct 7206 stretch Oyster Rivet bracelet. These straps were only used for a short period of time and are therefore just as rare as the watch. The clasp code is 3/60, wonderfully consistent with the watch and the condition of the bracelet is perfect. Conclusion: Highlight upon highlight. This 1675 occ combines so many rare elements in its entirety that it will be hard to find another example of this quality! |
