Description
The present example is an extremely practical wristwatch, with a divine combination of refined elegance and grand complications. Crafted in pink gold, the case is just 43mm, and encased within is the self-winding in-house caliber R27 PS QR LU, powering a minute-repeater and a perpetual calendar.

The most striking feature about this timepiece is the ostentatious open-worked dial – something which Patek Philippe had never done before, turning a new page in the brand’s illustrious history. Apart from the mesmerising aesthetic, it is also an opportunity to admire the incredible detail and finishing of the movement from the dial side. The month, day and the leap year indicators are presented on sapphire disks displayed through apertures at 3, 9 and 12 respectively, with the moon-phase and seconds indicators at 6, while the date is displayed along the periphery of the dial in retrograde format.

The minute repeater is activated by a white gold sliding lever, which not only sets in motion the melodious chimes, but also contrasts beautifully against the pink gold case. The striking complication is based on the traditional 2 gongs with an embedded bolt on the case middle. The sliding lever itself is a piece of art featuring a geometrical carving along its length, which continues on the opposite side of the case, and onto the lugs.

Stamped with the Patek Philippe hallmark of quality, this stunning timepiece is everything that the brand represents.

Now discontinued, this beautiful masterpiece is presented on a hand-stitched Louisiana Alligator strap with a pink gold deployant clasp, in a box with an in-built watch winder.
